I am so happy it is Friday, like serious happy dance. This week went fast but I have been tired and am very ready for the weekend.
Here is a look at my Friday photos.
6:35 am | I want to remember what Stella’s room looks like. Soon enough this room will change from a little girl’s bedroom to a big girl’s bedroom. This morning I peek into her bedroom to make sure she is dressed before I head downstairs from breakfast. She is already downstairs eating.
6:42 am | I want to remember that this sweet boy is never far when it’s breakfast time (he likes to give gentle and not no gentle reminders that he is ready to eat too). This morning as I go to take a photo of him Stella decides she’d like to be in the picture too. She has big love for her “brother”.
7:39 am | I want to remember that I make this almost daily stop at Tim Horton’s for tea. I had got out of this habit early in the year and was making tea at home, but have somehow got off track again.
9:53 am | I want to remember what mornings in the office look like. Today I am getting some paperwork ready for two home visits I have scheduled for this afternoon.
10:56 am | I want to remember doing casual day and 50/50 rounds in the office on Fridays. I joined the social committee at work about a year ago and we take turns on Fridays. We collect $1 for casual day (for charity) and then sell 50/50 tickets and that money goes back into the social fund. We’ve started a new twist to regular 50/50 where the winner can give back their winnings for a chance at a better prize. This has definitely made more people interested in playing. I also enjoy getting to walk around and say hello to people in other departments that I don’t necessarily see each day.
11:50 am | I want to remember the sunshine! I am embracing casual Friday today. I go outside at lunch time today to walk to a nearby restaurant to grab takeout lunch to bring back to the office. Today I get a favourite wrap.
1:03 pm | I want to remember how good it feels to celebrate others. Today we have a celebration for a co-worker who is adopting and is leaving today for a nine month parental leave. Cake, always.
2:01 pm | I want to remember that this project helps me to look around more and see things I normally wouldn’t. Today when going to a home visit I notice this funky carpet in the hallway of the apartment building.
3:37 pm | I want to remember how excited and happy she always is to see me when I pick her up from daycare. Today all the kids are outside playing because the sun is shining and it is lovely out.
3:41 pm | I want to remember, always, how thankful I am for this girl. We met when she started babysitting Stella for us when I went back to work after maternity leave. She quickly became one of my very best friends. Now I can’t imagine not knowing her or being able to talk & text with her on the daily. Today we stand outside with the sun on our backs chatting for a while before I go.
3:43 pm | I want to remember how much fun Stella has playing outside with friends. Today the kids turned this old slide into a tunnel and had a ton of fun crawling through it.
3:59 pm | I want to remember holding hands with this girl. I know soon enough she won’t want to anymore. Today we hold hands while walking into the post office to pick up a package.
4:22 pm | I want to remember warm afternoons outside with this guy. It is still so lovely when we arrive home today that we stay outside for a while. I clean up the yard and walk around checking our the gardens. Stella runs over to the neighbours house to play with the little boy who was just getting home when we did.
4:23 pm | I want to remember how the sunshine feels. I sit on the deck for a few minutes while Suka runs in the yard. I listen to Stella playing next door.
8:02 pm | I want to remember that often snuggling in bed with a good book is my favourite. After getting supper and tidying the house I end up in bed early with my book.
And I am so excited to bring on the weekend!
